Guangzhou-Zuhai-Macau-HK (Oct-2011)

Here are some of my pictures taken during my recent trip from 11th to 19th of Oct. It’s my second visit to Macau and HK. There’s no Zuhai pictures in this set as we only spent a short night there.

All shots were taken using Nikon D90 and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8. Did not bring my tripod so some night pictures are soft.

Southern Milkyway

It’s been almost two years now since my first attempt. It was a hot evening with very clear sky and the crescent Moon had already gone down the eastern horizon by that time. It was almost midnight. The sky was so clear I could even see it with my naked eyes with the help of my Equatorial Planisphere. It appeared as very faint white band that stretched across the sky from South to North depending on which time of the year you’re looking at.

Shooting info can be found at the bottom of the picture but a bit of post-processing is still needed to bring out the details. Too bad, it suffers from light pollution since I shot it from my backyard.
